Customized special air systemsDMR has constructed a number of special systems however in 2009 we patents our ventilation system now used in custom built plans where the danger due to the presence of flammable or explosive gas is present.
The system is called “Temporary Refuge” and allows for all personnel on an oil platform, in the work areas of the platform or the service craft to have a Safe Room (a large room, such as the canteen, can be easily transformed into a safe room for the personnel).

If there is an accident on the platform or at the well, certain extreme conditions can occur, and these conditions require the immediate safety of all personnel. In accidents, a mix of gases can occur, including hydrogen sulphide, flammable gases ‐ hydrogen, methane, butane, propane -, carbon dioxide, depleted oxygen supply, produced by suspended unburned particles (thick, toxic fumes) and depletes the oxygen supply.
The Temporary Refuge provides protection from fire, resistance to flashes of heat caused by the burning of possible mixes of combustible gases and creates survival conditions and adequate protection for personnel by supplying clean air, medical oxygen and air filtration to remove the carbon dioxide generated bythe respiration of those inside the environment.
